A key element in the deinstitutionalisation of elder care communities is the provision of hearty, good food. At Brenthurst Residence, residents and guests are invited to enjoy not only the homely atmosphere, but the delectable aroma of home-cooked, flavourful meals specially prepared on site by dedicated cooks.

Mealtimes are a large part of the community philosophy that drives Brenthurst operations. We therefore focus on delivering delicious food that looks, smells and tastes as though it came from a favourite restaurant. The cooks are given monthly cooking demonstrations of new recipes, keeping the menu seasonal and fresh.

Dining assistance is available in the Extended Care and Residential Care Units. Independent dining is reserved for the Brentleigh House dining room, where residents enjoy both their meals and pleasant conversation. We’re planning on including a buffet dining service in the very near future too, so watch this space!

Residents with kitchenettes may keep their own fridges stocked with treats for visitors and grandchildren to enjoy. However, all meals and teas are included in the resident’s fees  – so they never have to cook again. Visitors are treated to tea, cake and cookies delivered to resident’s room or lounge, and visitors’ meals can also be booked.

To ensure residents’ unique preferences are met, every effort is made to cater to all tastes and dietary needs. Nutritional support and blood glucose monitoring is available for all diabetics, overseen by expert staff.
